Car is essential
There are two spaces in the cut out of the rock directly opposite the house. There is a space for one car for the apartment and one for the upper apartment. If there is no one in the upper apartment there is additional parking for another car. Additional parking is on the road which runs alongside the wild garden area of the property.
Flights & Airports
Ryanair and Easy-Jet offer great deals from regional airports to get to this region of France/Spain. Perpignan and Girona Barcelona (sometimes referred to locally as Girone/Gerona) are the most convenient airports to fly into. Perpignan is approximately 50 minutes away and from Girona Barcelona, it takes just over an hour. In addition, Montpelier, Beziers, Carcassonne is approximately one and a half hours away and Nimes can also be used, but Nimes is a good two hours away by car. These times are approximate and will vary depending on peak holiday traffic during July and August. From November to the end of February the winter schedule will change flights available directly into the region. The most common routes during the winter season is into Carcassonne ( 1.5 hours drive) and Barcelona International Airport ( 2 hours drive). Flying into the city of Barcelona give additional time to explore this exciting and vibrant City.
Car Hire
When booking your car hire either in France or Spain it is important to check that cross boarder travel is included in the price. If it is not you can be charged a daily rate to have this on the car insurance and will significantly increase the price of your car hire.
